Stop Overthinking It: How to Name Your Offer So It Sells (and Feels Like You)

If you’ve ever stared at a blinking cursor, convinced that naming your offer is somehow harder than creating the entire thing… welcome. You’re in the club.

You know what your offer does, you believe in it, and yet—choosing the right name suddenly feels like the most high-stakes branding decision of your life.

As a money coach and business strategist, I’ve seen this play out with brilliant women entrepreneurs over and over. And I’ve lived it myself. You’re not alone—and you’re definitely not broken.

Let’s take the pressure off and turn naming into something fun, strategic, and actually doable.

Why Naming Feels So Dang Hard

Naming taps into creativity, logic, and identity all at once. No wonder it makes your brain freeze. Plus, there’s often:

  • Fear of choosing “the wrong one”
  • Worry that people won’t get it
  • No actual system to follow (until now)

Spoiler: You don’t need a naming fairy godmother—you need a five-step process that helps you get clarity without second-guessing yourself the whole way through.

The 5-Step Offer Naming Process I Use with Clients (and Myself)

Step 1. Name the Win

What transformation does your client walk away with? What changes for them?
Focus on the outcome, not the tools or process.

💡 Example: Instead of “Offer Strategy Basics,” try “From Idea to Income.”

Step 2. Choose Your Energy

Is your offer sassy or soothing? Straightforward or sparkly?
The name should reflect the vibe of the experience.

💡 Example: Boss Moves Only lands differently than Simple Systems Starter Kit—both valid, both totally different energies.

Step 3. Word Dump Without Judgment

List 20–30 words related to:

  • The outcome
  • The vibe
  • Client pain points and desires

Use verbs, adjectives, metaphors, and made-up phrases. You’ll clean it up later.

💡 Pro Tip: Include power words like clarity, momentum, magnetic, messy, or magic.

Step 4. Mash It Up

Now mix and match your words like a DJ making a summer hit. Try:

  • Action + Outcome: Unlock Your Offer
  • Alliteration: Magnetic Messaging
  • Familiar phrases with a twist: Crickets to Clients

And if you need help shaping it, add formats like: Toolkit, Bootcamp, Formula, Plan, Fast Track, etc.

💡 Pro Tip: Expect 20 duds before you find your winner. That’s normal.

Step 5. Make It Pop (the final polish)

Still not sold on your top pick? Run it through a few quick checks:

✅ Is it short and punchy (up to 6 words)?
✅ Does it start with a verb?
✅ Does it include a sensory or visual word? (Clutter-Free, Crystal Clear, Juicy)
✅ Could you add a subtitle to clarify the transformation?

The Truth About Offer Names

Here’s what I want you to remember:

Done is better than perfect.
Clear beats clever.
You can always rename it later.

So don’t let naming your offer be the bottleneck that keeps you stuck. Give yourself permission to play, experiment, and most importantly—keep going.

You’ve got this. And I’ve got confetti.
